Introduction
Geil was founded in 1993 and has since 1997 been known to produce high quality memory modules and kits, often focusing on the enthusiast market. Last time we looked at memory modules from Geil were back in August 2008. The memory kit we are looking at now is a high performance triple channel kit, designed for the Intel X58 platform, with a default speed of 1600MHz.
Packaging
The packaging consists mainly of a flat box, with holes on the front and back so that you can look at the contents. On the back we find a sticker with the product number and a few specifications, which states that then these modules are tested to handle 1600MHz at 7-7-7-24 timing.
If you open the packaging you can see that the three modules are wrapped in transparent plastic to prevent damage.
