Gigabyte GeForce GTX 460 overclocked with the Windforce cooler

 

Introduction

The Taiwanese company Gigabyte has it’s headquarter in Taipei, where the development of new products and the everyday procedure takes place. The selection of products primarily consists of motherboards and graphics cards, but also smartphones, server solutions and various hardware equipment.

 

Gigabyte’s GV-N460OC-1GI is built with the Ultra Durable VGA components and an anti-turbulent Windforce cooling component. The advantages with that initiative are for example lower temperatures on the GPU, bigger overclocking potential and a lower power consumption, compared to the GTX 460 reference version.

 

The card’s GF104 GPU is overclocked with 40 MHz from the factory, but the 1 GB GDDR5 memory runs at standard speed. This test will answer how the GV-N460OC-1GI competes against AMD’s Radeon HD 6800 series in ordinary, but also PhysX and anti-alising benchmarks.

 

 

Packing

The GV-N460OC-1GI is packed in a big package with different features illustrated on the front. Gigabyte emphasizes, amongst others, the Windforce cooling component, the factory overclock and the Ultra Durable VGA components. Furthermore the card has 1 GB GDDR5 memory and supports NVIDIA’s 3D Vision technology. 

On the back, the specifications are listed in point form, with clarifying explanation of the features of the card. Microsoft’s DirectX 11 gives Tessellation, Shader Model 5.0 and DirectCompute 5.0, which makes gaming experiences realistic and living.

Gigabyte protect the GV-N460OC-1GI with an anti-static bag and white packing foam. The different components are put in the box in a structured way.
