Apple omdøber Beats 1: Starter nye radiostationer

Planen med skiftet kunne tyde på kommer som et led i at udvide Apples live radiostation og tilpasse dem til Apple Music branded.

Beats 1 blev lanceret tilbage i 2015 med Zane Lowe som headline DJ og er siden udvidet til at være en omfattende station eksklusiv til Apple Music-abonnenter.

Om Apple Music Hits skriver virksomheden:

“offers a full catalog of the biggest songs fans know and love from the ‘80s, ‘90s, and 2000s”, and will mix shows and playlists alongside “the stories behind the most popular songs in the world.”

Det betyder, at vi befinder os i mainstream-musikområde, og det indikerer, at Apple Music Hits vil have en meget større FM-radioappel end Apple Music 1.

Apple Music Country er den anden nye station, der som forventet kun er countrymusik.

“Radio is part of the fabric of country music culture,” Apple commented, saying it hopes the station “amplifies that experience for the modern fan.”
